The Off-Broadway production will begin August 24 at A.R.T./New York Theatres' Mezzanine Theatre with opening night set for August 31. The run will continue through October 8.
With music by LaChiusa and a book and lyrics by Fitzhugh, the semi-autobiographical work tells the story of Californians Lillian (Mason) and Carlos (Samayoa) who, while exploring significant moments in their lives, discover they are linked in unexpected ways.

(the) “dazzling Luba Mason”
James Wilson, Talkin’ Broadway
"The cast is topnotch"…"Mason, who was sensational in last season's Girl from the North Country, is positively luminous here. She is in gorgeous voice, and she serves LaChiusa's music exquisitely.”…”Mason offers moments of breathtaking resonance. Even more impressively, she creates a complicated and finely etched portrayal of the character.”
Suzanna Bowling, Times Square Chronicles
"Both performances are masterful and genius in their sincerity and depth."…"These two actor/singers, are storytellers first; and because of that, from the moment we meet them, we care. In 85 minutes they weave their way into our hearts and soul.”
Marilyn Lester, Theater Pizzaz
"...packs a punch. The memorable talent of all concerned, particularly by leads Luba Mason and Caesar Samayoa, has yielded a work that’s greater than the sum of its parts—a creation that’s well-worth seeing." "Luba Mason as Lillian and Caesar Samayoa as Carlos couldn’t be more perfect in their roles."
